hi, Jackie. Thanks for all the videos, they're so informative. But there might be a slight problem in this video, it's on 12:09, is "felling" a mistyping here? should it be spelt "feeling" instead? many thanks

多谢你的视频,一如既往的鲜活。But I have a question about ups and downs. There is a Chinese phrase, which means ups and downs, (起起落落), 酸甜苦辣 stresses more on how the person feels in downs. If my understanding is wrong, I would like to hear different ideas

activedomainmv 說道:

Hi Jackie, your super teaching reminds me of the the 1970-80's during the last century (you were probably not born yet), when millions of Chinese were taking the risk of listening to VOA secretively to learn English 900, one of the most popular English courses around at the time. Another program hosted by VOA was One American Idiom a Day if I remember the name correctly and I listened to it whenever possible. Even by today's standard, VOA has still been considered by many Chinese officials as an enemy state radio station distributing dangerous information to Chinese people. I am not sure VOA still has such program. Nonetheless, I see you are doing a great job for Chinese people who are trying to learn American English. I haven't seen any other similar channel that could even think of competing with you. I really enjoy your program and I think your program would become a big hit in Chinese community, and for that, I wish you all the best!

I’ve been in States for decades but still wondering how to express the taste of 甘。Is it passable that you would like to help me to solve this problem? For example: Most of dried fruits have the taste of 甘。or, My grandma has some secret spices can make food taste 甘甘的。Thank you Jackie.

beng lin 說道:

请问老师, “越来越”(喜欢,好,难,等等),除了“more and more”外,还有什么呢?

SHUJIE MA 說道:

Hi Jackie, Maybe there is an incorrect word in the the example sentence you mentioned " Stop rubbing salt in Jimmy's wound .He's already devasted from the break-up" . is it "Devasted " or "Devastated " ? Could you please double check ? Thanks . Have a nice day .

beng lin 說道:

Could you please make a sentence with“ The ups and downs in life”? Every phrase has samples, only this phrase no sample.

beng lin 說道:

很棒的视频。我越来越喜欢Jackie老师了。
