Once upon a time in a small village, lived a poor woodcutter and his two children, Hansel and Gretel. Times were tough, and the family struggled to make ends meet.

One day, their stepmother, who was unkind and selfish, came up with a plan to abandon the children deep in the forest, as there was not enough food to go around.

Hansel overheard the plan and devised a trick. He sneaked out of the house and gathered white pebbles from the ground, leaving a trail that would help them find their way back home.

Upon their return, their stepmother left them in the forest again. But this time they could only put bread crumbs along the way. Unfortunately, the bread crumbs were eaten by birds.

So Hansel and Gretel got lost in the forest. Suddenly, They stumbled upon the gingerbread house. The house was made of candies, cookies, and all sorts of sweets.

Hungry and lured by the delicious sight, they could not resist taking a bite. The owner of the house was an old woman who invited them inside and feasted them.

However, this old woman was actually a wicked witch, she locked Hansel in a cage and forced Gretel to work as her servant, planning to fatten up Hansel so she could eat him.

The witch would check on Hansel’s progress by his finger, but Hansel tricked her by extending small bones instead. Because of her poor eyesight, thought the bones were Hansel’s finger.

Until one day, the witch grew impatient and decided to cook Hansel for her meal. She ordered Gretel to climb into the oven to check its temperature.

Gretel pretended she did not know how to get into the oven, and asked the witch to show her. Seizing the opportunity, Gretel quickly shut the oven door, trapping the witch inside.

Freed from the clutches of the wicked witch, Hansel and Gretel found their way back home.

They find their father grief-stricken over their absence. He had regretted letting them in the forest. The family was joyfully reunited, and they lived happily ever after.
